Dinosaur party bag labels: make cheap favours feel planned
A UK parent-friendly guide to turning bulk mini dinosaur figures into labelled party bag favours that feel more thoughtful.
By Ali Raza · Software engineer · Parent of dino-mad kids
A dinosaur party bag does not need a large toy to feel special. The trick is to give a small favour a tiny bit of story: a mini dinosaur figure, a label, and a reason for the child to keep it.
For UK birthday parties, this is useful because bulk dinosaur figures are easy to split across a class-sized guest list, but they can look random if they are dropped into bags with sweets and stickers. A simple label turns them into a mini activity.
Three label ideas that work
- Adopt a dinosaur: write "Please look after this little herbivore/carnivore" and let children name it at home.
- Fossil field team: call each guest a junior palaeontologist and include one figure as their field find.
- Dinosaur mystery bag: hide the species name and ask children to match it with a picture after the party.
Buying notes for parents
Choose a mixed pack with enough figures for every guest plus a few spares. Check the listed size carefully, especially if younger siblings may be present, and avoid anything marketed as suitable only for older children if toddlers will handle the bags.
